ACFO launches 2016 awards

ACFO launches 2016 awards. This will be the 33rd consecutive year of the awards. They will enable all members and non-members to nominate the best in their opinion across seven categories:

  • Fleet service company of the year
  • Environmental initiative of the year
  • Fleet safety initiative of the year
  • Green vehicle of the year
  • Small van of the year
  • Large van of the year
  • Fleet car of the year

SMMT state that remaining in Europe is “critical to future” of UK Automotive industry

SMMT state that remaining in Europe is “critical to future” of UK Automotive industry. Exports of UK manufactured vehicles is at its highest level for over a decade and therefore the uncertainty of leaving the EU could damage this position. The industry has a bias to export at 80% of which 57.5% are destined for the rest of the EU

Mitsubishi continue to lead the way on ultra-low carbon vehicles with the Outlander PHEV

Mitsubishi continue to lead the way on ultra-low carbon vehicles with the Outlander PHEV. At the end of Q1 2016 there were 19,945 plug-in hybrid Outlanders registered on UK roads, for comparison, the all-electric Nissan Leaf stands at 12,469. All hybrid and electric vehicle sales are showing a boost to sales figures in comparison to 2015 with the trend set to continue.

Vice-Chairman of ACFO, Richard Baird, is re-elected to ACFO Board – First elected to the board in 2013, Baird retired from the board and was re-elected by ACFO members unopposed as no other members put themselves forward.
